Orange Nation needs its own Law Firm. I'm not talking about Daily Kos HQ. They have lawyers. No problem. Orange Nation needs its own Law Firm dedicated to slowing if not stopping Fracking initiatives from sea to shining sea; maybe another one dedicated to slowing if not shutting down the TPP. Orange subscriptions - separate from those supporting Daily Kos - would do the trick to raise the coinage necessary. $2.5 Million a year supports four attorneys, staff and coffee money. Not a lot of cash, but it will pay for four lawyers at $250 Large per year, two (or maybe 3) Legal Eagles (Paralegals), and $100 - $150 Large for Office support, plane tickets. Barely a Law Firm but one nonetheless. The cost? $25 per year per Kossack (assuming we can get 50,000 of us on a Million Member blog). For $25 we can put four attorneys on the front lines of the war on Fracking. That right there money well spent.
It was this Diary... Hilcorp Frack-Gas Stampede that inspired this one. Sure, protests will help raise awareness - and protests are encouraged! - but companies like Hilcorp are bringing Fracking to your back yard - and have the backing of the courts to start drilling in your back yard before your first cup of coffee - before you even had a clue they were coming. It takes more than protests to stop that horse$h!t. It takes an Orange Law Firm. Or two. Got $25 to help end fracking?
